Blue Bird Yard Signs rents lawn greeting displays in and around Lisle, Illinois. This page explains what information we collect when you use bluebirdyardsigns.com, how we use it, who else sees it, and the choices you have.

What we collect

When you book a greeting: your name, email address, phone number, billing address, the address where the sign goes, the event date and the phrase, colors and personalization you choose. Personalization often includes a first name and an age for the person being celebrated. Payment is taken by Shopify Payments or Shop Pay. We see the payment result and the last four digits of the card, never the full card number.
When you write to us: the name, email address, phone number and message you enter in our contact form, or anything you send us by email or text.
If you create an account: your login details and your order history.
When you visit the site: your device and browser type, IP address, the pages you view, how you got here and how you move through the site, collected through cookies and similar tools described below.

How we use it

To deliver, set up and pick up your greeting, and to reach you about your booking.
To answer your questions.
To screen orders for fraud and keep the site working.
To send you our emails if you agreed to them at checkout or signed up. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
To see how the site is used and to measure our advertising.

Who else sees it

We do not sell your information for money. These companies process it on our behalf, each under its own privacy policy:

Shopify hosts the store, runs checkout and payments, and screens orders for fraud. Shopify's privacy policy.
Mailchimp sends our emails and records when they are opened.
Lucky Orange records how visitors move through the site (clicks, scrolling, pages viewed) so we can fix what is confusing.
Meta (Facebook and Instagram) receives site activity so we can measure our ads and show them to people who visited us. Under some state laws this counts as sharing for targeted advertising. You can opt out as described below.
Growave powers reviews, wishlists and social login if you use them, and stores what you submit there.
Easify powers the personalization options on our product pages.

We also share information when the law requires it, to respond to a valid legal request, or to protect our rights, our customers or the public.

Cookies and tracking

Shopify, Mailchimp, Lucky Orange and Meta set cookies or similar identifiers. You can block or delete cookies in your browser; checkout and your cart need some of them to work. To opt out of interest-based ads, use the Digital Advertising Alliance or Network Advertising Initiative tools, or adjust your ad settings on Facebook and Instagram.

Your choices and rights

Ask us what information we hold about you, correct it, or ask us to delete it. We may need to verify who you are first. We keep booking records as long as we need them for our accounting and legal obligations.
Opt out of our emails with the unsubscribe link, or by emailing us.
Opt out of the Meta ad sharing described above by emailing us; we will turn it off for your account and device where we can.
Depending on where you live you may have additional rights under state privacy law, and the right to appeal our decision or complain to your state's attorney general. Email us and we will respond within the time the law allows.

We will not treat you differently for exercising any of these rights.

Children

Many of our greetings celebrate children. The adult placing the order gives us the child's first name and age, and we use them only to build the sign. We do not knowingly collect information directly from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has sent us information, email us and we will delete it.

Security

Checkout runs on Shopify's encrypted systems. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so please do not send card numbers or other sensitive details by email or text.

Changes

When we change this policy we will post the new version here with a new date at the top.
